This is a LED retrofit light for 12" Florescent Tube Lights. Due to the size of these smaller tube lights, an external driver is provided. This driver converts 10-30v DC RV power to a clean 12v DC power for long tube life. Other brands of retrofit tube lights have a wire and the driver hanging out the side of the tube, we choose to provide the driver separately and we utilize the natural pins on the end of the tube for power for a much cleaner looking installation. Since the driver occupies the space of your previous ballast, you will never see the wires or driver while looking up at your fixture.
You will need basic 12vDC wiring skills to install these tubes, or have them professionally installed. Wiring is basic, each driver gets a positive and negative wire connected, and each driver has a positive and negative wire that need to be connected to the end of each tube. Easy to install. Be sure to read the instructions! Very nice light output and color of light.
This was our second purchase of these bulbs. We are refitting our motorcoach with LED lights. My husband is installing and has done a dozen bulbs now. The first time he called the service tech at M4 and found them very helpful. Now he has a system, sets them all up and then installs them all. We love the light. So much better than the dull old flourescent. The kits have everything you need and we consider them a great buy.
Works great and looks much brighter than the old floresents we replaced

Still have not received the product.
M4 Note: We received the order June 2 and shipped it June 2nd. The customer choose First Class shipping and he is all the way across these great states. The post office is quoting an extra couple of days for all mail packages due to Covid, and this shipped right in the middle of the Riots so trucks were delayed in LA and across the country. The customer never contacted us, but posted this review 6 days after shipment. Since this time, we have worked with the post office and the package was delivered in 8 shipping days total time. Folks, we can't control everything going on out there right now, but if we could I assure you the world would be a better place! If you ever have a question on a product, installation, shipping, or even the state of the world, try calling or email us, I am sure we will respond. Onward.
This is an outstanding product and I would give it an unqualified 5 star rating except for the tv interference on a few channels with weak signals. I note that there is a new module to fix this, but since I have more than ten of these already installed retro fitting the module would be a bit pricey.
to install correctly take time but product worth it.
The installation is a bit more cumbersome than the lights with a pigtail from the bulb, but once done it is a cleaner installation. I've had M4 products for years and they've been trouble-free.
From my measurements with my smartphone app Neither the CW or the NW were as bright as the original florescent tubes - but the power consumption and heat produced no longer melts the plastic sockets. The CW seems to be brighter but measured the same as the NW. The best customer service I have ever encountered for an internet purchased item.
M4 Note: Typical customers report about 10% more light with an LED tube. As discussed with John, I don't put a lot of faith in the phone app, actual visual light is most important.
