Product Description
50 watt 6 ohm Resistor with Aluminum Heat Sink to solve Rapid Blink and Computer Error problems when using an LED in certain installations. Towed vehicles and vehicles with heavy duty or LED turn signal relays typically -DO NOT- need this part. Primary vehicle with standard relays or computer systems that check for "bulb out" errors do need this item.
Resistor is installed to your original vehicle harness between the power and ground wires and tricks the system into thinking there is a standard (not LED) bulb in the circuit). Tapping into your original wires is required. Resistors get hot, that is why it has an outer aluminum heat sink. Make sure it is suspended from the harness in the air to release this heat.
Sold individually and includes splice connectors as pictured. If you have two lamps, you need two resistors.
HOW TO TELL IF YOU NEED A RESISTOR: Remove your standard bulb and watch for dashboard computer errors. With the bulb removed turn on your turn signal, if it blinks rapidly or erratically, you need a resistor.

They work as designed…. BUT,
I manufactured a harness that incorporated two of these since i installed two led lamps, however when under load they generate so much heat i believe they should have a bigger heat sink. I would advise if choosing these to place them in a well ventilated area. M4 Note: Load resistors are primarily to be used for Turn Signal Circuits which are not on continuously. These are not recommended to be on full time. You can contact us more about your application and we may have more input.
